Day 420

Today we went to The Museum of Natural Science. It was fun. If you saw my last facebook status it said, "A day at the museum, dinner under a tree in the rain, kids play their hearts out on a stage, play in a water sprayer, fun had PRICELESS! Actual cost ZERO!" My lame attempt at humor. I forgot the part about chasing ducks and pigeons. Both boys nearly fell into the duck pond thing. LOL I took 129 pictures today...sigh. It was hard to pick just a few, but here goes. I will try to type a little about each picture.

Last year Marc and Josh couldn't figure this thing out. I was too busy pushing Hannah and trying to keep up with Caleb, so I didn't pay any attention to it. Today Josh learned what it was and though it was too awesome. LOL This is a rock...duh. It has a seismic sensor built in one side and a pole thing in the other. Last year the boys tried to "hammer" the pole thing. This year Josh learned if you twist it or move the ring thing it makes vibrations the seismic monitor picks up and then displays on a screen.
Hannah and Josh turning wheels on the "Christmas Tree"...has something to do with oil. I snapped the pic and took off after Caleb.
Hannah found a diagram of a dinosaur.
Samantha gives Hannah a boost to look through a hole.
Hannah loves pushing the button. It made the balls float and bounce off each other like atoms (or molecules) do in a gas.
The periodic table. Josh found the mercury. We had talked about how it was one of the only liquids a few weeks ago.

Josh thought this fossil was the coolest.

This picture goes with the next one. In the previous picture you see the dinosaurs from the ground floor. This picture is taken on the second floor. Hannah runs over and says, "DINOSAURS!!!!"  Then as you can see in the next picture, she puts on her scared face and runs away and says, "scared." It was too cute.

We found this next thing hilarious! We went across the street to eat. It was kind of raining, so we sat down at a table under a tree. There was a squirrel next to the trash can eating a sandwich out of a bag. We of course scared him as I am sure we do every animal. So what is a hungry squirrel to do? Well, it grabbed the bag and took off up the tree. It finished the sandwich and then dropped the bag. NO LIE, the bag fell into the trash can too! This picture is of the squirrel 10 feet up in the tree finishing dinner.

Samantha was terrified of all of the thunder. This is her "scared" look. LOL After this picture was taken she moved from the metal table to Hannah's stroller.

Goofy boys
"Caleb, I told you not to go to the top of the hill while there is lightening!!!"
Beautiful!!! Of course I am a little biased.

Fun on stage at the Miller Outdoor Theater while waiting for the rain and lightening to go away.
Love this one!
Hannah chasing a bird.
Well, apparently the rain and sweat was not enough. The kids wanted to play in these fountains...well not Josh. This is Samantha and Caleb trying to drag him in. Hannah even got in on it.
This little guy is always so much fun...when he is not annoying everyone. :)
I see Scooby-Doo. LOL We all had a good laugh over this.
This is a quote from my oldest son, "Mom look! Now I look like daddy!!!" He had the water shooting up his shirt.
Guess what??? No wrecks, freaks or arrests were seen while driving today!!!!

Day 419

Today I took Josh and Samantha to music lessons. They had a good time in the car without any fights! It was so great.

Day 418

Gosh darn, sometimes the camera phone just isn't good enough. It works great for still pics, but things in motion are a blur. This one would have been so stinkin cute too! Since I sing with the big choir in the morning service, we arrive at church pretty early. Caleb and Hannah go into the same room for childcare until it is time for them to go into their normal rooms. Caleb was being such a great big brother this morning and he walked her to the room. Now if any of you are photo type people and could edit this to clear it up some I would greatly appreciate it!

Day 417

Today we went to pick up Josh! Hannah was so tired in the car and quickly fell asleep. She looked cute, so I took a picture.

I attempted to snap one of Caleb too, but I missed. Then Samantha wanted one of her too. What I captured in the next two pictures is the joy Caleb and Samantha give me each other in the car. Caleb is having fun getting on Samantha's nerves and well, Samantha is NOT having fun! In fact she is quite annoyed.

JOSH IS HOME!!!!!!

Can you tell she is happy????

Day 416

I used more of the blueberries today! They are soooo good! I made blueberry muffins, again with half whole wheat flour and half regular. Hopefully one day I can be done with regular flour, but in this house it has to be baby step. :) They are really good!!!

Day 415

Today Caleb and Samantha were supposed to go see the new Transformers movie with Marc today. He is sick...too sick to enjoy a movie. Caleb was crushed, so I found something else for us to do. I can't believe I forgot about this place in my summer fun blog post! We went to the Children's Museum in the Woodlands. I didn't have it in me to go all the way into town for the Children's Museum in Houston which I somehow managed to forget in my other blog post too. Anyway, it was fun. Not nearly as good as the one in Houston. Then again it is hard to say because Samantha is so much older. Will she and Josh enjoy it as much as they used to? It will definitely be on my list for later AND Thursday afternoons from 5-8pm are FREE...for those of you who didn't read my other post about free stuff. I will put in lots of pics from today, but the first is my favorite. It is not a great photo and in fact it was taken with my phone. It is more the story behind the picture. This is a puzzle type thing with a bunch of different color balls. You use one of those magnetic pen things to move them to the correct place. I spent a long time doing this with Hannah telling me where to put them. Then Caleb wanted to do it, so we messed it all up. To my amazement he sat down and did it. I thought about halfway through he would get tired of it and stop, but he didn't. There was another time where a boy older than him came up and tried to take it away because he wanted to do it. I was sitting right next to him, so that didn't happen. Gotta love the sense of entitlement among children these days. I was actually shocked by some of what I saw today, but I won't go into it. My focus was on my own children and their fun. Anyway, Caleb finished this whole thing!! Who would have thought? My youngest boy...who gives me so much grief never ceases to amaze me! Oh and to do the math for you, there are 8 different colors and each color has 7 balls. That is 56 different colored balls to put in its place. When we messed them up some were in different colored cans AND many times two balls would stick to the magnetic pen, so it wasn't as easy as just putting them wherever!

Here is Dr. Hannah! She had fun with this one.
Hey kids! Why are you in the doghouse?
Digging for dinosaurs
Chugga chugga choo choo
Caleb was funny with this one! He has played tic-tac- toe on the iTouch lately. When no one would win, he would say, "well, that is a C because we didn't win." On the touch a bid "C" for cat goes across the screen. He did pretty good too. When we moved on Caleb and this other boy were tied for wins.
Roar!!! Here comes bear Caleb.
Grandpa would be proud of his little firefighter.
and the other firefighter too. (seriously, don't these two look a lot alike?)
Doesn't she make a cute lion?

Samantha is saying, "I am the queen!" Caleb is going, "OKAAAAAAY."

Day 414

Today we sent Josh off to church camp. He was so excited to go, which is very clear in the last picture. We got him checked in and then headed to the nurse table...I know, one of these days I will get to pass it by...I hope. :) After that it was outside to wait. I'll be danged it was HOT before 9am!!!!  He was on bus 2 and the sister of Hannah's friend was on bus 3 (yes, I said Hannah's friend--LOL), so they played around some while we waited for them to leave. Finally, a few minutes after 9 we waved bye and Hannah said, "bye, love you" and blew kisses. I got everyone loaded back in the car, then I heard it...."I miss Josh!" It came first from Samantha! Oh how I love my kids. :) I will update Hannah's blog later with the rest of our day.
Samantha is counting all of the busses

Josh is getting so big.

Yes, she IS picking her nose....
She loves her big brother soooo much.
This is his THRILLED bye mom smile.
