Day 749

We went to another Astros game. This time with was with Caleb's baseball team. It was fun. We got there early to watch batting practice. A few balls came near us. One of the security guards went to get one of them. All of the boys (including Josh) started going crazy begging for the ball. I looked over and told him not to bother because they always give them to little kids. I figured he would give it to one of the little boys next to Josh, but he walked right up and handed it to Hannah. It also happened last year...I am sure I blogged it, but can't find it. Josh of course started balking at the fairness because it is always Hannah. LOL We made our way to the upper deck and took our seats. On one of our many bathroom trips Hannah and I saw the people that throw the shirts into the stands. She waved and we got a drink of water. When we turned around they had come back and gave Hannah a ball. She was so happy to have TWO balls!!!!

Day 710

Today Josh told me he needed new reeds for his saxophone. He wanted to go buy some, so we did. Well, we ended up coming home with the reeds PLUS a bunch of other stuff. There are books for the sax, piano, and guitar. Caleb was a little mad that I wouldn't buy him a trumpet or drums. LOL

Here is a video of Josh hitting the ball today. He was the first batter of the game AND swung at the first pitch. He hit it...barely. LOL

Day 708

Caleb had a game. He normally plays left field, but today he got to play 3rd. I was a goofball! If you check out the video, the very first play he gets the ball and throws it all the way to first.

Day 706

If you saw THIS photo a few days ago, you saw Hannah distracting the catcher for the other team. It didn't work today, so she resorted to trying to climb onto the field. She might have been trying to go after the really bad umpire.....

Day 703

We have a secret weapon. Her name is Hannah. If you want your team to win I will let you borrow Hannah to distract the other teams catcher. :)

Day 678

I am seriously committed to not eating crap every night because of baseball! I got the call this morning about our make up game being scheduled for tonight. We had our own picnic lunch at the ball park. It was complete with wraps, pineapples, and strawberries. It was good! This is Hannah chowing down on Samantha's wrap.

Day 676

Opening day for baseball means I get to see the sunrise! How beautiful is that picture??? Ignore the fact that is was taken through my horribly dirty windshield while I was driving. It was just...WOW!!!!!!Here are Josh and Caleb waiting for the ceremonies to begin.
We sat in the car before Caleb's game watching these clouds....what do you think?
Here is Caleb warming up before the game.
My little Indian!
The outcome of the game..... postponed due to a horrible downpour. I am sure you could have guessed from the "cloud" picture. :) They managed to play one inning and all 5 of us were thoroughly drenched by the time we got in the car and went home.

Day 672

Another day at the ballpark. This was at Caleb's scrimmage. Hannah has turned into a run-away. Kind of a bummer when I want to sit and watch the game! I would give her a little more freedom, but Caleb's field is right next to the parking lot, so I am her shadow.

Day 669

Tonight (3/12) Caleb had a scrimmage! It was kind of cold outside, but he did great! I am so proud of my little guy. Here he is getting ready to bat.
Here is Hannah...she was spinning around.

Day 668

The season hasn't even started yet and I am already sick of baseball!!!! Today I had to pick Caleb up from school. The poor little guy doesn't feel well and the nurse wanted him rested up for tomorrow. They are having a rodeo day and it is supposed to be really fun. Caleb has been counting down and talking about it all week. We skipped Caleb's practice, but Josh had a scrimmage. We had to go it because we are missing Josh's other one next week. The scrimmage started at 7:00 and lasted nearly 2 hours....did I mention yet that I am sick of baseball? Let me just say that t-ball is much more entertaining than 9-10 year old baseball! Caleb rested the whole time. Hannah even got under the covers....By 8:00 I was wishing I was there with them sleeping!

(Caleb decided he didn't feel well enough for school and stayed home :( )

Day 655

This is so NOT baseball weather!!!!! Our Friday movie movie night has been replaced by Friday night at the baseball park. Under 2 blankets is Samantha at Josh's practice. It was about 5:45 pm, in the 40's, with crazy wind! The next photo is of Hannah snug in her stroller under 3 blankets watching a video. That was during Caleb's practice which ran from 7-8:30. It was COLD!!!!

Day 651

I know it is impossible to tell, but that little red blur in the middle is Caleb. What you can't see from this picture is that it is nearly 7:00 pm and the temperature is in the 40's with some wind. You can't see my numb fingers either. Baseball season is not supposed to be like this! Well, it is what it is and we must show up! Caleb is doing GREAT! He is such an athlete, but I am sure those of you who know him can "see" that about him. He is MUCH improved over last year. It is going to be a fun, but busy season (Josh is also playing). It would just be wonderful if we had baseball weather and NOT hockey weather.
