Day 86

Today we went to the zoo. It was fun, but HOT. Our first stop were the lions and tigers because once it gets too hot, they sleep under a tree all day. The picture is of Hannah's reaction when she sees the lion. The next picture is what exactly she saw....it was really THAT close! The tiger was cool too. It was swimming when we got there, but then got out of the water and went to lay behind a tree. One more picture after that.... Hannah says "DOG"...not a dog. Something every backyard in Texas needs! Unfortunately, they don't eat fire ants. I also have one for a special group of my readers. I started cracking up laughing when I saw this particular thing, because I have NEVER seen one before...well only the little cartoon-y ones. It is a STORK.

Doesn't she look terrified?

I don't blame her!
T
he anteater!!!

Gotta love the stork!

Day 85

Happy Birthday to me; Happy Birthday to me.....

My dad took us (the whole family) to dinner tonight. Those 2 desserts were NOT all mine. They got spread between EIGHT people. Hannah and Caleb got the most! LOL

Day 84

This is not the original set of photos I was going to use...you can see them on Hannah's blog. I got my new carseats for Caleb and Hannah today. They are for Marc's truck. Why do they need new ones? The one Caleb has in the truck only harnesses to 40 lbs and he is 42. Hannah still has the infant carrier in the truck. She is still far under the weight limit, but looks uncomfortable in it. I am choosing to extended harness Caleb(yes, I know he is almost 5). To see why and learn exactly what it is Click here. In the SUV (my car) Hannah is still rear facing in her Britax Marathon. The plan is to keep her rear facing as long as possible. Caleb is harnessed in a Britax Regent (I promise his is not pink). As a matter of fact Samantha is still in a booster also. Josh just got out of his a few months ago. The new seats for the truck are Sunshine Radian 65's. They are nice and seem like they will take up much less space than the Regent. I don't have them installed yet because Marc has the truck at work. Here are pics. If you do have a child under the age of 7, I URGE you to click on the first link. If you have any further questions, please feel free to leave a comment and I can answer it or direct to in the right direction.

Day 83

Every Sunday for the last 2 years Caleb has a routine at church. He has had the same teachers and they are moving up again next year. He LOVES his teachers. He doesn't like going to church if he is not going to Mr. Joe's class. On Sunday morning we start out by dropping off Hannah. We avoid the elevators. See Nancy's Monablog to see why. It might be a day or 2 back. Caleb bounces up the stairs as fast as he can. Then he hides in the corner.

I sign him in and get his security card. Then Mr. Joe goes out and gets Caleb. Caleb laughs the whole time. Mr Joe stops at me and tells Caleb to kiss me bye, then takes him into the classroom and all is well. Here is Mr. Joe with Caleb.

Day 81

Tonight was parents night for the church where the kids did VBS. The kids all got on stage and sang and did sign language to two songs. Toby Mac's Made to Love and the song God of Wonder's. It was pretty cool. After there was ice cream, hot dogs and a few moonwalks. I got pics of the kids doing the songs, but will only post Caleb's because he was front and center and you won't have to look for him. If you look closely you you can see Samantha behind Caleb in the white hat.

Day 80

Well, this was not the picture I was originally going to use. Tonight Hannah was climbing on Josh and fell off the couch. I held her, hugged her, and sung to her to get her calm. She started singing and giving me hugs and kisses.

Here is the picture I was originally going to use.

Day 79

Well, another tough choice with my pics. It is not because we did a lot today...actually we did, but the afternoon was spent at home. Josh and Samantha played with friends. Caleb was not so happy about being left at home with Hannah. One pic will be here, others in Hannah's blog. The pic is an accident waiting to happen! Hannah loves dogs and likes to sit on Sandy. I always try to take a pic, but I am usually too late. I got down on the floor for the picture and noone was moving. THEN Caleb starts screaming he wanted to be in the picture and ran over to them. If you can tell in the picture, Sandy is getting up and Hannah is getting tossed off. LOL

Day 78

Well, I was going to blog about our movie theater experience. It consisted of starting at one theater and the power going out, getting a raincheck and checking times at another theater (same one) about a block or so away. Our original movie started at 2:30. The power went out around 3:45. I dropped Marc off at the ticket center to check times and see if we could use our rainchecks there. We could and did for a 3:15 show. Josh and I parked the car and RAN through the parking lot (that is the part where I wish I had my camera). We sat down about 3 minutes before the scene where we lost power at the other theater...perfect timing. Anyway, no pictures of us running through the parking lot. I was more interested in getting into the movie and not miss a scene. The picture I do have is of Caleb wearing Samantha's hat that she got in VBS today. Yes, this is the third VBS for my kids, but the only one I am not "working" at.

Day 77

I had plans of taking more pics today. I didn't take my camera into the chiropracter because I wanted to get Hannah adjusted. Well, she did NOT like it. It took forever to calm her down, but she wouldn't let me put her down. Caleb fell asleep on the way to the chiro, walked in and fell back asleep. I carried him and Hannah to the car and he was still asleep. We stayed in the car during guitar practice and he slept the whole time. He woke up when we tried to get him out of the car at home. There is a picture of him asleep. I also got one of Hannah. Samantha wanted some of her creams on after her bath. Hannah got excited and ran over to the makeup box and started digging in. Oh and to my carseat nazi friends...I can see that Caleb's strap is twisted!

Day 76

Today we went to Grandpa and Mimi's for a cookout. The kids got to play with their cousins. They had a great time. The pic if of Kyle waving, Caleb shooting his pretend gun, and Samantha smiling for me.

Day 75

Tonight we went next door for a party. It was a combo birthday for me and Marc; welcome home for Jean, and grad party for April. It was fun. I picked 2 pics out of the ton I took. The first is of my beautiful Samantha. The other is of Josh and some frogs. He did have more, but they jumped off before the picture.

Day 74

It is rare that the kids take baths together. The older 2 are just too old and Caleb doesn't want anyone with him. In an attempt to hurry up for our movie night, I gave Hannah and Caleb a bath together. Hannah was already happy because I never bathe her in the "big" tub. Why she finds Caleb spitting water at her funny...I will never know.

Day 73

Today we went swimming. The kids had a blast and for once we didn't get rained out!

Day 72

Hannah discovered ketchup today! It is also the only pic I have today. We were so crazy busy I didn't even have the thought to take out the camera...except for this picture. It is also her first real taste of fries...I know bad mommy. She decided by this point to dip the fry and suck the ketchup off...then repeat.
