Day 717

Proof that these two CAN play together!!!! These two played for over an hour with cars, balls, dinosaurs, and transformers. Caleb put on his baseball uniform at 4:00 today...his game is at 7:30.

Day 716

Are you confused??? I probably didn't mention it here...you know being busy and all. Last week I woke up to huge puffy eyes. Since I am new to wearing contacts, I thought it would be best to have the doctor check me out. Good thing! My eyelids were scratched up....one worse than the other. That explained the off and on pain and irritation I had been having. I got some eye drops and was told to not wear my contacts for a week. Today it has been a week! The good news is that one eye is healed! The other is pretty close. I got the ok to wear my contacts, but have to use the drops twice a day...before I put them in. If they get irritated like that again, I will have to get refitted. These pictures are from inside the little office Hannah and I got to wait in. The first picture is taken from the chair looking at the mirror. The second picture is the letter chart behind the chair...it aims to the mirror.

Day 715

Did you know new cars are awesome!!!!! While I was trying to read the encyclopedia...owners manual, I learned that I can watch a DVD on the navigation screen! Don't worry, this function does NOT work while the car is in motion! LOL WOW....think of all the movies I could watch while sitting at baseball practices!!! This would have been totally awesome if I had it the whole baseball season! Hannah gets to watch Snow White while I get to watch Pirates of the Caribbean.

Day 714

Today was Hannah's last swimming lesson. Being 3 there isn't much she can do, but she did learn a lot!!! She started out with absolutely NO fear of the water. Thankfully she has respect for it now, but she is NOT afraid. She really did make a lot of progress and I couldn't be happier!

Day 713

Today we had a plan! We needed to get Marc's truck washed and figure out what to do with it. It was a lease and we were at the end of the term. Yes, we know leases are stupid and we will never do one again! We knew today was the day we were going to make a car purchase. My first idea was to just buy the lease, but it was going to cost way too much money upfront and then we would be paying nearly double for that stupid truck. So we decided to buy a new family car and Marc is taking over my Sequoia. There is NOTHING wrong with the Sequoia other than it has 130,000 miles on it and it is almost 6 years old. That was back when Toyota put quality over profit! Honestly, we just needed something bigger...that left us with a Suburban or the Expedition EL. With strollers, baseball stuff, stuff needed for baseball games, and other stuff in the tiny back area...there was just no room for anything else. I had to put my groceries in Caleb's and Josh's seat along with the floor in front of the Sequoia. Marc on the other hand will love all the room...after he has it detailed cause it was pretty gross. I am sure he will second that! We ended up at Tomball Ford where his friend works. We came home with a brand new 2010 black Expedition EL. I am never going to figure out what all the buttons do! We love it! Tonight after baths and dinner I was looking at something in the car. Hannah came out in her pj's and said she was tired and she wanted to get in the car in her chair! LOL Here are some photos of the new ride!

Hannah at the carwash.
The front seats.
The DVD and sunroof...this one makes me VERY happy!
The middle seat before I put in the real carseats. This was Hannah's from the truck. I switched hers to the Britax cow one. Caleb's looks just like this though. I also put some blankets under the car seats.
The third row
Look at all that space!!!!! This one was after I put in the correct car seats.

Day 712

Hannah and I were BUSY today...nothing new there. It was such a beautiful day, so we had lunch at Freebirds out on the patio. It was wonderful!

Day 711

Caleb protests reading so much! I have to sign a daily reading log for him, but getting him to read is like pulling teeth. So, I snapped a photo of him really reading!

Day 710

Today Josh told me he needed new reeds for his saxophone. He wanted to go buy some, so we did. Well, we ended up coming home with the reeds PLUS a bunch of other stuff. There are books for the sax, piano, and guitar. Caleb was a little mad that I wouldn't buy him a trumpet or drums. LOL

Here is a video of Josh hitting the ball today. He was the first batter of the game AND swung at the first pitch. He hit it...barely. LOL

Day 709

Friday movie night....this was NOT my choice! I will leave it at that!

Day 708

Caleb had a game. He normally plays left field, but today he got to play 3rd. I was a goofball! If you check out the video, the very first play he gets the ball and throws it all the way to first.

Thursday 4/22

Day 707

This Wednesday night we are getting ready for the Hi5 Musical, King of the Jungle. Here is a photo. Caleb is on the stage front row--far right in a black shirt, sitting next to a little girl. Josh is top row middle right in a neon green shirt. Samantha is top row in a pink shirt. You can really only see her head though. The bottom is a video of a few segments of the play. Samantha's speaking part is near the end. You have to pause the playlist music to hear it. :)

Day 706

If you saw THIS photo a few days ago, you saw Hannah distracting the catcher for the other team. It didn't work today, so she resorted to trying to climb onto the field. She might have been trying to go after the really bad umpire.....

Day 705

I am officially crazy! Of course this is not news to any of you! I like to run...yes, I am one of those weirdos. LOL I don't get a chance to run many races because of the kids and Marc's work schedule. I have a few 5 milers, the 10 for TX a few times, and 3 half marathons. Of course the next step is the full marathon right??? Someone at church this week asked me if I have a 13.1 sticker on my car....I don't. I just don't feel like it is that much of an accomplishment....I know, that there is nuts. I think most people that are just casual runners can up and do a half marathon. For me I feel like the half is more of a common thing. The full marathon is the real deal! I don't think the casual runner can just up and run 26.2...that is MILES. I have lots of training to do because my body kinda doesn't like to go past 12...then I feel it. LOL So, today I took the plunge and signed up for the San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. Who is with me?????

Day 704

We spent a lot of time in the car. Josh has this knack of NEVER going to sleep. He will actually brag that he doesn't and can't sleep in the car. I know have proof that he can sleep in the car. Actually, when I took this picture ALL 4 kids were asleep.

Sunday 4/18

Day 703

We have a secret weapon. Her name is Hannah. If you want your team to win I will let you borrow Hannah to distract the other teams catcher. :)

Saturday 4/17

Day 702

That is a mess! A whole mess of paper work! Why would I take a picture of all that junk? A certain government agency ( don't want to give them a name) decided we needed to either pay MORE money or give them more info. I chose the more info route and spent HOURS going through papers and filling out junk.

Friday 4/16

Day 701

We are tired. These days it seems like all we do it go. Today, I decided to stay put! Those things I need to do will still be there tomorrow. Hannah loved getting to chill on my bed and watch Clifford. It is her favorite show! I have been getting more of the laundry folded...still not all put away. I have gotten both bathrooms scrubbed spotless and have gotten some stuff done in the kitchen. I even took out the trash (that is a Marc job and he is gone).

Day 700

Marc is in the Bahamas this week. If you remember last year Josh, Samantha, and I went with him. It really is a company type trip though. They have awards dinners at night. Well, by the time the week is over Marc has enough awards to fill another suitcase AND they are heavy. So he (as well as most of the others) end up leaving them there. I know it sounds stupid, but if you know Marc you know he doesn't really care about awards. Sure, he LOVES the recognition, and the money that comes along with them, but the actual awards end up sitting in a box. Honestly, where would we put them anyway? I could see keeping maybe 1 or 2, but ALL of them??? Could you imagine being a visitor and walking into our living room seeing a wall of Marc? I don't think so. Well, the vendors are aware of the awards problem...they have to take all of the awards TO the island. This year some of them will be shipping them to our house. GREAT! So, when the UPS man showed up on our doorstep, I was confused and the kids were excited....until we opened the box. We all had a laugh! Marc gets to go on the trip and we get his stuff.....

Day 699

Can't believe I am posting this picture. THIS is a thorn in my side. There are little piles of folded clothes on the couch, coffee table, and floor between them. The bottom left of the picture has an overflowing basket of clean laundry ready to be folded. There is still stuff in the washer AND dryer. The piles on the back of the couch are hang ups. See, we really do have clean clothes! We just haven't had the time to get them all put away lately. I guess through all of the busyness it is good to have clean clothes, clean dishes, and together time. The rest of the house will eventually get worked out...worked on.

Day 698

Josh hasn't been feeling 100% for the last few days, so I kept him home from school. He did have a low grade fever, so he couldn't have gone anyway. It of course meant my day crashed and burned. I didn't get in my run OR my grocery shopping....yet we left the house at 8:30 and didn't come back home until after 2:00. Hannah had her swim lesson this morning. Josh of course had to go. He sat down on the side of the baby pool....he ended up spending the rest of the day with his back side wet. LOL Just as it was almost dry he was laughing so hard and spit his drink out all over his front. What was so funny? Hannah of course! First she was laying across a chair funky. She said "OH MY HECK HURTS!" We were like huh???? Then the room we were in at the doctors office has the Winnie the Pooh characters painted on the wall. She said, "hey mom...look at pooh pooh." huh???? She was talking about Pooh bear. Then we were still just sitting there and she said, "I want to eat birds"...again huh? We figured out she was talking about eating at Freebirds. The final thing was while we were sitting at a light. Josh said, "mom look, there is a fish." I said where...he said "in the tree" huh?? So I said, "there is a fish in the tree with pooh pooh and they are going to eat birds." Josh spit his drink EVERYWHERE!!!

Day 697

Today we went to the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo. It was the first time we have ever gone. We had NO idea what to expect since our only real rodeo experience is The Houston Livestock show and Rodeo. This was very very different. As we were parking a lady pulled up behind us in a golf cart. She drove us all the way to where we needed to be stopping only so we could pay the entrance fee. WOW, that was very different from all the walking I am accustomed to. Of course the middles (Caleb and Samantha) started holding their noses pretty quickly saying it was very stinky. The reason we went is because our cousin has a pig there. We looked for them. When we found them we watched the pigs for a while. The kids were able to touch Andi's pig. They thought that was cool. We walked around some looking at all the animals. Then we did the kids tractor pull. After that we headed over to the petting zoo. It was really a neat experience. We didn't actually get to see any rodeoing, but maybe next year.... To read more of the story CLICK HERE
When we were leaving we got a ride back to the car. The man driving asked me if I parked across the highway. Now being from the city I am thinking no, just across that street. It took me a few minutes to realize the highway he was talking about was the little street. LOL Gotta love the country.

Here is Caleb about to dig into the dirt and rocks.

Hannah watching her siblings in the tractor pull.
Samantha in the tractor pull
Caleb...he made it to the finals.
The petting zoo had lots of Hannah size animals.
Caleb.
Samantha and the camel.
Despite the smile, Caleb is still afraid of camels.
This was cool.
Chicken...at least I hope that is what it is.
This is me feeding a llama while being attacked by a goat that wanted to food.
This was a very strange feeling.....
Hannah got to sit on the tractor.
The dirt was just...well, nuts!
This was her clean face!
Does this one need any explanation???

Day 696

Do you really want to know about this picture? I cracked up laughing at this one. We spent the morning and afternoon at the ballpark. I do not buy stuff from the concession stand, but others do, so the kids know what they have. They sell these things called pickle pops. Basically it is just pickle juice frozen in a little plastic cup. Caleb decided he was going to make his own pickle pops. He came home and ate all the pickles and poured juice in these cups. Then he put plastic knives and other things in to use as a stick. He then put them in the freezer...where they still sit this morning. :)

Day 695

Just having some fun with my girls before our movie night.

Friday 4/9

Day 694

Caleb wrote this on the window while waiting for the bus. It says "I love Samantha."

Thursday 4/8

Day 693

Hannah got a new steel water bottle today. She loves that it has ice cream all over it!

We found a food Josh will NOT eat! brussels sprouts.....

Wed 4/7

Day 692

I don't know if you can tell, but that small bright spot in the middle is a little cloud rainbow. It was pretty cool to look at.

Tuesday 4/6

Day 691

Today Hannah had her very first swim lesson. It was so fun to watch! She had a blast.
