Day 902

Wednesday, October 20-

Today the High 5 kids choir recorded their part for our Christmas cd. 

Day 892

Sunday the kids choir sang in all 3 church services. Josh is no longer in High 5, because he is in 6th grade. Caleb is now in the same group as Samantha, because he is in 1st grade. In this photo you can see Caleb being goofy. He is imitating Stephen (the guy with the mic talking). Caleb really left me speechless, AND in tears after the 2nd service. If you have seen Caleb sing in church, or videos from the past, you know he is just there. He sings and does the motions with almost no emotion. That was the case during the 9:30 am service. At 11:00 something changed. He was dancing and making faces, AND singing. Those of us near him were laughing, and I mean laughing hard! I had tears. I am a helper, so I didn't have a camera with me. When it was time for the 6:30 service, I shoved my phone in my pocket...just in case he had another crazy moment. He did! It wasn't quite like the first, and it wasn't quite as funny as when you see him do it for the first time. It was still humorous though. I took a video with my phone. You can see I don't have the best angle, but Caleb is really goofing it up. Samantha heard about his antics, and you can see her look down at him occasionally. Between the songs he bows and says, "Thank you, Thank you very much." Before watching the video, you will need to pause the playlist music on the right side. 

Day 843

What on earth is going on with all these lines???? I don't think ANYONE knows. They have painted and then sandblasted so many times that no one knows which ones to follow. If you enlarge the photo you can see the most recent sandblasted line right at the new road/old road line. Then there is the one in the middle, followed by the one right next to it. Contrary to what it looks like in the photo that road is open and is currently a 2 lane road...I just happen to be trying to turn along with the line of cars in front of me. If you can see the stripped lines farthest to the left...well, those confuse me even more. Those were the first ones painted and MY car couldn't fit in that lane because it was too narrow. There are new lines every few days....LOL 

High 5 started back up tonight. This is a VERY fuzzy photo of the rally that included PreK-5th grade. I got stuck at had the honor to work the registration table. That was so not for me!!! I felt like people were just coming at me...and it seemed to last for an hour. WOW....put me with the kids and let  me be. :) I love being with the kids!

Day 719

Today was not only Josh's birthday, but it was also the King of the Jungle musical at church. The kids sang 2 songs during the morning services at church today. Josh's solo was in one of the songs. I admit I was pretty worried because he has kind of froze up in the past, but I didn't need to worry. He did GREAT!!!! After church we had a birthday lunch with my mom and Josh. Then we headed back to church where I tried to take a few pictures of the kids. It is not as easy as you would think. The whole set of pictures of me trying to get all 4 kids is on facebook. :) I am a teacher helper person, so I didn't get ANY pictures during the performance. My mom did take a few videos though. To watch them pause the play list music. Josh's solo is in the first video. Samantha's speaking part and Caleb's walk around with the mask is in the 2nd video.

Day 707

This Wednesday night we are getting ready for the Hi5 Musical, King of the Jungle. Here is a photo. Caleb is on the stage front row--far right in a black shirt, sitting next to a little girl. Josh is top row middle right in a neon green shirt. Samantha is top row in a pink shirt. You can really only see her head though. The bottom is a video of a few segments of the play. Samantha's speaking part is near the end. You have to pause the playlist music to hear it. :)

Wednesday 4/21

Day 664

Sunday the PK-5th grade Hi5 choir kids sang in all 3 church services. Let me just say that after Wednesday night rehearsal I was worried. Samantha and her friends were mad at me because I moved them down a row with the younger age group. Honestly it was because they couldn't be seen. I love my girl, but she will never be a back row choir member. I had another little girl who got upset because the taller younger boys that got moved back a row decided to move back two pushing this other girl farther back on the stage where she couldn't see. Some kids were so squished that they couldn't do the motions while one row was only half full. I like detail and order, so this was stressful for me. LOL Sunday morning came and it all went off without a hitch. The kids did so great! The 4 girls who had to be moved down were ok with it. I moved around the other girl who was having a problem with those boys. It just all went well. The kids did so good. I had to honor of leading the back row across the stage. I was told to walk across the stage to lead them instead of on the floor. First service went great! Second service was a little tricky. The worship leader was standing on the edge of the stage singing. He had his back turned and did not see us walking in. I thought about staying on the step until we passed him, but then I saw the kids coming in from the other side and realized it wouldn't work. I also didn't want to confuse the kids and end up with the back half standing on the step instead of the stage. So I walked along praying Stephen would turn around and see me. He didn't! I slowed down right as I came to where he was standing. About that time he raised his arm in the air and turned around nearly hitting me in the head. LOL It was a little tense for me, but kind of funny looking back now. Luckily that didn't happen in the 6:30 service.

Josh and his friend are being funny during High 5 practice. I laugh at them and then feel old because they don't know who "Urkle" is.....
