Day 155

Two pictures today. One is of Caleb at dinner with my dad. He is eating his birthday sundae. The other is of Hannah and Caleb playing hopscotch at his open house. See this as Caleb, Josh and Samantha jumping and Hannah running while stomping her feet. LOL

Day 154

Today is Caleb's birthday! He is 5! We had a small cake and small presents today for him. Marc is at work, so he missed out. Caleb didn't want to have to go to school, but he came home with a goodie bag. He bounced off the bus to tell me what a great day he had at school. Caleb got some toy handcuffs, some hot wheels (with fire on the side), silly string, and an electronic whoopee cushion.

I am FIVE!!

Caleb blowing out candles.
Playing with silly string.

Hannah LOVES cake. Believe it or not, Caleb, Josh and Samantha don't like cake. Hannah took care of it for them though. LOL

Day 153

Well, these are not pictures of the actual event, but I forgot my camera and it wouldn't have been appropriate anyway. The kids rode with Marc to church today. It was a bad idea because he let them each get something at Starbucks. Needless to say, Josh threw up during Kids Worship and Caleb ended up beat red and itchy. Josh went to SS with us and big church for the sermon. I joined the Gathering Choir, so I was on stage singing in the choir during the first part of the service. Not a good time for a picture. Josh became a Christian about a year and a half ago, but has never done the Lord's Supper. Our church does not do it every week and since he is always in Kid's Worship he never goes to big church. Anyway, today was his first time to take the Lord's Supper. It was cool to share that experience with him. Again, not a good time to take a picture. LOL So, what you get is a picture taken at home by Samantha. I finally told her to hold the camera up in the air so you wouldn't be looking up our noses.

Day 152

We had a music time tonight before bed. Josh played his guitar. Hannah danced and then tried to help him play.

Here is Hannah dancing...notice her shoes! (See her blog about that one.)

Hannah helping and Caleb not wanting to be left out of the picture.

Hannah is getting down now! LOL

Day 151

Normally I don't go around taking pictures of trees, but if you look closely you will see my oldest son up in the tree. Now when he said he was climbing the tree I had NO idea he was really climbing it. I about spit out my dinner when I saw him up there!

Day 150

This was not my original intended picture. The original had something to do with my laptop being stuck in a start up loop. The computer dummy in me started messing with configurations and prompts. Amazing the computer booted up. I have NO idea what I did though. Anyway, I went out to get a portable hard drive so I could back some stuff up just in case it didn't come back on after my next shut down. Well, before bed Hannah had a moment. LOL She got her finger stuck in a vent in the door. I am mean and stood there while Josh brought me the camera. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I am STUCK!

But, I don't think it hurts....

Seriously Mom, it is NOT funny!!!!

ENOUGH of the camera and get me out!!!!

Day 149

Tonight we had dinner at church. We couldn't find a spot inside to eat so we ate outside. Here are the kids...don't worry, they did not eat ALL the food in front of them! Hannah is moody, so I usually put a little of everything in front of her. She ate the banana pudding. LOL

Day 148

I know, I know, I am a dork! My odometer really hit 88,888. Doesn't really mean anything special other than I have less than 12,000 miles left on my warranty and I will get there before my car is paid off...oh well. Anyway, on to the real picture! You can see for yourself that Caleb is entertaining himself while I wait for the lunch meat. He had a few people around laughing, of course there are always some people who get annoyed that kids are allowed to touch things. Hey, at least he wasn't using it as a machine gun like he has in the past.

If only it would last!!!! Here is Hannah trying to clean up the lunch she threw all over the kitchen floor.

Day 146

Ok, so these 2 pictures are not of my family. One is of Judge Roger Bridgwater. The other is Houston Mayor Bill White. Why am I using these two pictures? Bear with me while I explain. The last few weeks have been really frustrating. It doesn't have so much to do with hurricane Ike, but more around our on-going health issues plus some. Today is Sunday and a church day. Today I really didn't feel like going to church. I am weary and feel beaten down. That is the time I really NEED to go to church. I did manage to get up and get everyone dressed. We went and I just still didn't really feel like being there. Well, Sunday School was good and I was starting to feel glad I went. I went into the sanctuary and sat down. I saw Roger Bridgwater. He is a mentor of sorts. He was the Chairman of the Board of the high school I went to. I also did an internship in his law office my senior year. At one point he put his foot down with me and set me straight. When we started attending church, we joined his Sunday School class. I really admire him and his wife, they never fail to show how to live a Godly life by example. When I see him around church, I always make an effort to get over to him and say hi. Today, I was too busy wallowing in my own self pity over our situation and just didn't feel like getting up. I will say that was stupid and I am kicking myself for it. Today sitting next to my mentor and friend was Houston Mayor Bill White. I could have had a chance to meet him...stupid me. I missed an opportunity because I was in a mood. For those of you who do not live in the Greater Houston area, or live under a rock...Houston recently had a hurricane. Our church is a Red Cross staging area. I am not sure exactly what all that entails, but the website can explain if you are curious. The Mayor got up to thank the church and the city. He also said a few other things. It was actually pretty cool. For those who again do not live in or around Houston, I personally think he is one of the best Mayor's the city has had...then again, I am still kinda young. LOL He helped out the Louisiana people after Katrina. Then one month later, brought Houston through Rita. Now he is again dealing with another crisis named Ike. To date over 2 weeks after the storm there are still people without power. I have heard numerous new interviews with him over the last two weeks. He tells it like it is AND lets people know when he is NOT happy. He doesn't seem to play politics either. Anyway, enough about the Mayor of a city I technically don't live in. As for myself while singing songs and worshipping God, I started to feel my heart change. It was like the bricks were slowly being lifted off my shoulders. Pastor Gregg actually showed an amazing video and after hours of searching the internet, I can't find it. It really described me today, then it reminded me that God is always there. That is so true! Just in time! I really needed to be reminded of that today. I needed to remember that my Father God cares about what I am going through. My Father God understands! Thanks guys for understanding my need to break out from my 365 picture today and letting me share.
