Day 815

I forgot my picture again, so I dug up another oldie. This is from New Year's Eve 1997. This photo is of my brother acting out The Great Cornholio from a certain MTV show that was popular back then. Ok, I am still cracking up laughing over this!!! My brother sounded EXACTLY like this character!

Day 814

I do NOT have a picture for this day. Instead of blogging about the boring little details of my day, I decided to find an old picture. I think now when I forget to take a picture I will find an old picture and tell about it. It could be an old family photo or an old school photo. I am not sure how much I can tell about this picture! This is my cousin Bridgette and my cousin Bobby. It looks like they are at a party. This looks like the first house I lived in as a child. Judging from Bridgette's pretty dress, it is probably summer. Maybe it is a birthday party for me. Honestly though, I have NO idea! If anyone has any insight or details about this photo, please feel free to fill me in!!!!

Day 813

Today (8/3) all three of us girls had dentist appointments. Hannah and I for a cleaning and check up and Samantha for fillings. I already blogged about it some. Here is Miss Hannah in the big chair. She did GREAT!

Day 812

What is up with me???? I don't have a picture for this day either!! I do have a recipe though. I made this and it was sooooooo good!!!! We were really surprised by how good it was.

1/3 lb organic or raw feta or chedder (I just used shredded cheddar because we don't like feta)
1 cup chopped celery
1 chopped red bell pepper
1 cup diced asparagus
1 cup artichoke hearts, diced
1 cup pitted black olives, diced
1 Tbsp chopped capers or dill pickle ( I used a whole big pickle)
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp oregano
salt and pepper

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and then add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add 2 to 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar. (I did :) )

I confess that I didn't really measure everything. I just grabbed 3 celery stalks and a handfull of asparagus. I also bought the black olives already chopped up.

Day 811

Again I don't have a picture for this Sunday. :( It was a good day. We went to church. Then we came home and chilled. We watched Air Bud and Sleeping Beauty. It was just a nice Sunday.

Day 810

I can't believe I don't have a picture from today!!! (Sat 7/31) Anyway, I will give you some facebook updates.

... funniest kid saying so far today...Josh said, "mom, if I give you my allowance for the rest of my life can you send me to First Baptist Academy." I had no response immediately because I was laughing...if only it were that easy!

...just washed a kids mouth out with soap.....

We also had a birthday thing for me again. My mom and brother came over. My mom made me a chocolate cake with pecans and a birthday dinner. It was SOOOOOOOOO good!!!!

Day 809

Today--Friday 7/30--we went on a family mission trip to Galveston with our church. It was so fun and a great chance for the kids to get to serve. We got to ride a bus there, which for me was very nice. I spend way too much time driving as it is!

Here is Samantha with a friend and Hannah.
Our first stop was helping stuff backpacks with school supplies. We stuffed A LOT of backpacks for lots of kids. It was fun. Then we played a friendly game of kickball. My oldest didn't want to be on my team because he thought I couldn't play. I jumped and caught his first kick! LOL It was fun! I don't think I have played kickball since I was 11. Then we had lunch and a devotion. After that we got back on the bus and headed to Galveston State Park. We spent a while cleaning trash up off the beach. It was fun, but HOT. Caleb was done pretty quickly, which I knew he would be. Hannah kept playing in the sand and wiping her hands on me....if you knew how much I dislike sand you would have to know this drove me crazy, but I told her to do it because she kept rubbing her eyes. It took a few times of her rubbing sand in her eyes before she realized she needed to wipe her hands on me first. LOL

Here is a photo of Hannah wiping sand off her hands.
Here are my big 3 picking trash our of the seaweed.
Our trip included a surprise! I knew what it was because of Caleb. I needed to make sure the surprise didn't include the ocean because Galveston just burns his skin to pieces. I kept it a secret from my kids though! When we were done at the beach we headed over to Schlitterbahn for 4 hours. It was a little unnerving having 4 kids and 1 of me at a waterpark, but we did GREAT! Josh went with a group of his friends and a dad. So I just had 3. We tried the lazy river, but I was having a hard time keeping my hands on them and keeping us together. WE got out and hit the waterslides. Lots and lots of waterslides. Hannah LOVES waterslides. She just laughed and giggled the whole time! She wore herself out. As soon as we got back on the bus she was asleep and didn't wake up until the next morning.

Day 808

July 29....many years ago, I was born! Here is a photo from my 1st Christmas with my grandma.
In my years on earth I have grown...obviously. I graduated high school and went to Baylor for a year. Then I got married and had 2 kids. I went back to school and got a 2 year degree while having another kid. I worked at taking extra science classes to go to UT Health Science Center so I could get my BSN and I had another kid...who was truly a miracle. Those "kids" are awesome! They are a gift from God and I am so thankful he entrusted me with these precious gifts. Have you ever heard that saying, "baby, you've come a long way"? I can't put into words how far I have come in the last 13 years...since I have been married. My grandma (in this picture) was one of the most important people in my life. I truly miss her and am very sad that my kids never got a chance to meet her. She helped shape the person I am today.

Day 807

Christmas in July??? Nope, it was my family birthday celebration...since Marc was off. It was GREAT!!!!! Aside from the cookie cake, I got a Bella Cucina Rocket Blender. I LOVE IT!!!!! I also got a portable radio that plays music from my iPhone.

Day 806

This child LOVES stickers!!! Today (Tuesday 7/27) we had to go to the mall....the Apple Store to be exact. Do you know how hard it is to go to that store and not leave with your wish list???? Anyway, my wireless keyboard went a little nutso this morning. I remember getting it about a year ago...I think for my bday because I spilled coffee on the original. Anyway, the wait time was long...thanks to the iPhone 4. We got our name on the list and had lunch. Hannah got Chick-fil-A and in the kids meal she got a cow and stickers to decorate the cow. She chose to decorate herself instead! FYI on the keyboard....they were so busy that they got tired of researching it and just gave us a new one!
